| I have been having reasonable success at 1/2, 2/4, and the $10 SnG's, meaning that I am consistently winning bingo money for my honey :-). I am considering moving up on the limits, but am not sure if I should try the 3/6 or 5/10 games. How much different is the play at 3/6 as compared to 2/4? I would expect that the 5/10 games would be less wild and bad beats from no fold'em hold'em types would be somewhat fewer. As you might suppose, I am referring to online games. I usually play at PartyPoker. (the $10 SnG is a GREAT moneymaker!) Any advice? (and yes, I know the 5/10 sharks would love to have a new fish) | ||

| Hi I would take some higher shots, determine my comfort level, step back to my comfort level if I was losing and keep working on my game. Don't be in too much of a hurry...If you have what it takes you will get there. Life is Good :-) Roy Cooke on 25. | If you are doing good at the $10 SNG's then move up to the $30 games. The competition isn't all that much harder. Maybe instead of 2-3 good players in a $10 you now have 4-5. Just be more cautious about getting trapped. A couple wins at the $30 SNG can really improve your bank roll. | ||

| Thanks for the tip. I was considring those as well. One question, how long do they take to fill up? The $10 tables are pretty much instant (but I have no problem ever getting on them first or second). | ||

| The $30 tables take a couple more seconds to fill up, but that's about it. On average you'll have fewer maniacs, but the games are still pretty soft. In fact they can be easier to beat at times since half the table aren't maniacs. | ||

| I used to play a lot of Paradise 1 table tournaments. I kept perfect records for a year. I found the $10 and $20 tables to be very profitable, so I quickly moved up to $30. There was some increase in player skill at $30, but it was still more profitable than $20. The big jump in skill is at the $50 and $100 tables, I found, because these are the levels where a very good player can make a decent income. So to answer your question, I think the overall skill level up to $30 is pretty weak, so if you are successful at the smaller tournaments then go for it. Good luck. | ||
