| I understand the difference as far as playing style, etc. between playing real money tourn and play money tourn but have a question. I play real tight and I haven't been able to place in any real money tourn. Should I play play money tourn to practice? If I can beat those, should I be able to beat real money tourn or is it so different that it wont help to practice with play money? Thanks for any advice. | ||

| Good question......... Let me talk through how I handle tournaments: 1. early on , in the first hour, if there are re-buys, I'll play it lose. looking to catch cards, send off mixed signals...etc. 2. Where are you in the chip count???? If you have the lead at the table ..play will differ..... 3. You can play it tight , and hold on until you get monster hands....and bet hard! peole will catch on if you only play 2 hands in the first hour!....Depneds on the tournament?????? hope this helps......keep in mind.....you have to be you! on 24. | First, there will be some differences in the level of play in play money tourneys, but playing in a few of those, especially if you can find some multi-table play money tourneys is going to be good experience for you. Second, tournaments take an ability to take advantage of situations and change gears as necessary. Sometimes you have to be a little more aggressive and take some risks. No one wins tourneys without taking a few calculated risks. Playing extremely tight all the way is generally going to get you past a bunch of guys, but always keep you short of the money. It's the nature of the game. Take some time to read up on tournament strategy to understand how to make decisions in that environment. | ||
