I've read over and over you work on a hourly rate as a poker player.
How do you figure what hourly rate you should make if you are a good player? Lets say you are playing 3-6 blind holdem.
thanks

If you are continually working on your game and trying to improve, your hourly rate will take care of itself.

It will be influenced not only by how well you play, but by how well your opponents play. Two equally skilled players may have dramatically different hourly win rates if one plays only on weekday afternoons, and the other only on Friday nights. This speaks to the value of game selection in poker.

I don't have a good feel for what a good hourly rate in $3-6 holdem is, but I suspect that it is possible to earn between $10-15 per hour, assuming you are playing in mostly soft games. For your hourly rate to become a valid statistic, though, you need to log some significant hours (thousands).

Thanks for your input. You put it in its proper light. As you say it depends on the game, time of day, tight game , loose game. etc.
