I have seen many players concerned about their showdown winning percentage.....They seem to think the higher they make their winning percentage the better they are playing.....

NOT!...If you are not calling the river often with the worst hand.....Then you are playing too tight.......In limit games the pot is laying you a price.....If there is 20 bets out there and you win 1 in 10 when you call you are making a long term profit.......If you are not making those types of calls you are giving up a lot of equity!

This is an excellent observation which further shows that these site statistics become far less relevant out of context than players are aware. A top player who adjusts to table conditions will have radically different stats from a loose/aggressive game to a tight/passive one. These stats are only going to show a possible massive leak in one's game. To really get better you have to review the key hands in a session. I think it's fair to say that one recognizes a key hand when it happens (win or lose), so it's just a matter of recording the hand number to examine later.
