| On average what would you guys say your win % is at showdown in holdem? In other words what do you think is good? 90%, 80% less? | ||

| While I would love a 90% win rate at the showdown, I don't think you'll find that number to be sustainable over the long run. This stat is, of course, going to fluctuate based on the game you're playing. I usually am doing pretty well financially if I'm around the 60% or better mark in a fairly loose passive game. The problem is that it's just a stat. It only has so much meaning and has to be taken in the context of your style of play. A rock will have a higher showdown win %, but a little looser, more aggressive player can have a lower % and be doing just as well financially with greater chip swings. When I look at stats like win % at showdown or % of flops seen, I really only use them as loose measure of my discipline at the table. When my % of flops seen gets pretty high or showdown win % gets fairly low, it tends to be a sign that I've been playing a little looser than I should or I'm chasing cards a little. Of course, others factors come into play like texture of the game and run of the cards for me. The end measure is if you're up or down financially. The stats can help you see what may be going on with your game, but aren't a number you point at to say whether you're necesarily playing well or not. | ||
