| I see many otherwise talented players play higher and tougher games than they would normally chose after taking a big loss....they want their money back and they want it back now... This is the WRONG time to step up...Almost all players play better when winning....their confidence is up, they feel sharp and their mood is competitive....when things are going well is the right time to take shots playing tougher and higher games! Don't chase your money....If you are getting the best of it...It will come back to you in time! Life is Good :-) Roy Cooke | ||

| This is obviously valid advice, and I'll add another truism to the list. ONCE YOU LOSE IT, IT'S NOT "YOUR MONEY." I can't believe how many times people change strategy to target a particular player because he took "my money" in the last pot. It's also common for beginners to miscalculate pot odds because they think money they put in should be counted differently, because it's "my money." Money is money. It doesn't matter whose pocket it was in before it arrived at the table. The only thing that matters is whose pocket it's in when you leave! | ||

And honestly, I have been tempted to follow that path as well; a sure sign that tilt is staring me in the face, and usually a good time to go get some dinner. -Moz "mmmm.... open faced club sand wedge."

Sometimes....... the clearer and more sound-minded approach to take (which is the one you just mentioned), is put on the back burner, and that is due to players that have lost sight of the big picture. "Many a bankrolls" have suffered from this type of thinking because their own thought process was in an irrational state to begin with; and as soon as you lose your true purpose of playing poker, which should be to make money the "correct way", without *ever* compromising your good discipline and money management skills.........you're done. I would like to see more of these types of posts from you Roy. In my opinion, your voice can make a difference. Although talking about hands and things like that are definitely worth discussing......the posts you have put up over the past couple of days are the ones that really need to be absorbed if anyone is planning on taking poker seriously. Good work. 4P- (and you're right Roy......."Life IS good)!
