I was playing a SNG 10/1 on Party last night.

I play very tight on the first two rounds of blinds and after the button passes me I turn on the "away" button. I check my cards in case I get pocket A's or something similar.

I was also playing in a 2/4 HE game at the same time.

I look up at my SNG table and I see pocket Q's in LP next to the button at 15/30 blinds.

I am thinking cool I can get some more chips easily when it looks like only one person will call before me and the blinds.

I am waiting to bet when my hand is gone! I forgot to turn off the button.

I am pissed at my self. The flop comes KQx and now I am really mad. The first caller bets 100 and both blinds call. Turn is x first bets 200 and I am thinking I have lost a big pot.

River is another K. First better bets 200 again and gets on caller. The bettor turn over KQs!

I would have lost everything. Stayed in my tight mode and hit a full house at the 100/200 blinds taking out three people and won the tournament!

Hi Don

You snooze....you lose......This is a good example of why you need to be aware and focused at ALL times at the table.....Treat it as a learning experience...It is a good one and for that matter a cheap one!

Life is Good :-)

He didn't lose though as I understand it. He lucked out BIG TIME.
Congrats on playing well and winning it after that.

Just because it ended up helping you to fold that hand, does not mean that optimal play includes folding premium hands.

I understand the importance of not playing too loose in those sit n go's, but you also can't let good opportunities pass you by. There are frequently some pretty bad players in those tournaments, and they like to bust out pretty quick. It can be a mistake to not take the chips when you can get them, you usually need them once the blinds get higher.

Jay,

I was going to play the hand. My position was great and there were no raises to me.

I just forget to "Sit Back" in the game. I had the "away" button on!

Thanks,
Don
