| Kevintoe should never have called your all-in with no pair or anything. My biggest worry in nl tournamnets with poor players is them knocking me out by some stupid call and them getting super miracle cards. I had pocket AA and flopped a set of A's. Some idiot called me to the river and made a flush on the turn AND river. The player had 36 offsuit. Even the big pros are at risk of some stupid player. Maybe not as much in the higher stakes tournamnets. The only thing I can recommend is tread lightly in the beginning while these poor players get weeded out. Even if you flop a set of QQ do not initiate the all-in. Just small bets and call. I know this may be the wrong play in all the books, but it helps me survive until I can play against some better players later in the tournamnet. | ||

| That's definately a bad beat. But one thing you might try is just making a pot-sized bet on the flop. It should fold anyone who would fold to an all-in call. And there are players out there who will read an all-in bet as a bluff attempt at the pot. But I feel for you. This game can be very frustrating at times. But you just have to remember if there weren't players like that it would be harder to do well over all! | ||
