Hello,

A recent conversation has come up between some friends. All of us have heard about this Erik123, who, from what I gather, is a 20 year old kid playing from Europe and dominating the game. Last week at Pokerstars(i believe it was pokerstars), he won a tournament for 100,000. My question is, if the legal age to play at pokerstars and UB is 21(which it is), how did he even get in the tournament??

My second question is, is this kid for real? Does anyone know anything about him?

Jon

Erik123 is a pro from Linköping , Sweden. I believe he is the same guy who crush his opponents at 200/400 heads-up at Ladbrokes under the name Salmonfish.

Howard Lederer on rec.gambling.poker:

"Since he lives in Europe where the age of majority is 18, he is plenty old enough to play. He is 20. I played with him in Paris. He said that he wants to celebrate his 21st birthday in Vegas. I can safely say that he will be the best, and most experienced 21 year old poker player in history".

He lives in Linköping, sweden. But he is called "TheSalmon" on ladbrokes, where he plays alot of 100-200 and 200-400 games, mostly shorthanded.

His real name is Erik Sagström and he has had some b&m tournament succes in europe.

Jonny I'm not sure about the age issue but I can tell you that I have played plenty of short handed poker online with Eric123 and I have come to one conclusion. This kid CAN REALLY PLAY!!! I'm sure he would be the first to admit his strength is short handed but he is mighty in this area indeed. I know from friends that have played live poker with him that he is in his early 20's. He has great potential to do well in poker but he is too young to comment on how he WILL DO. I like this kid and would like to see him do well. Believe me, he doesn't need a lot of help at the table. I hope that stands true away from the table as well. GRANT PITTMAN
