But....your the moron!, Roy Cooke, 18. Aug 2003 07:16

I just watched a hand play out in which a player berated the worst player at the table for drawing to a back door flush....The terrible player left when the blind came to him......The player doing the berating was a reasonable player.....Solid, but weak in strategy knowledge! He might be able to win if bad players played in his game....But he drove of his best chance......He was calling the bad player a moron......He needed to look in the mirror!

DRIVING OFF THE BAD PLAYERS IS DUMB!.......Think it, but don't say it!

Even type it in the chat box, but then erase it, don't send it, if that makes you feel better.

That's why I say nothing at all! Once in awhile I'll say nice hand, but usually I don't like to type anything in.....but to call someone a moron, especially the "live" one, is rather selfish IMO, not to mention rude and foolish.

Mike said it all when he said "make bad players into legends"

Can you say...."do you always limp in and call with 6-2o from UTG? 'cause I just want to know next time I have a big slick"

True story from my weekend's long list of bad beats...I hit top pair K on the rainbow flop, he has low pair 2. hits a runner, runner 6 and 2 for the full. Needless to say, he didn't answer my question.

I hardly ever chat, but if I see a huge idiot I will usually try to chat with them to keep them there longer. If their city is disclosed, ask them about a casino in the area, the weather, etc....make them feel WANTED because they are....I usually don't comment if they beat me in a hand, but will compliment them if they chase to the river to beat someone else...a couple of 'Nice Hand's' can win you a few more calls later when you have him beat and keep them at the table longer.

So true. Of course it hurts when you raise with AA and get called by 36 who immediately flops two little pair, running you down like a drunk driver on the sidewalk. After wondering whether I should have folded to his raise on the turn I usually have a conversation with the Poker Diety of my choice, asking that I be allowed to play in the same situation another 100 times that session - with random cards on the board of course. lol

The real funny part is that most of the time, the player doing the yelling is no better. I watched this guy berate a woman at our table for being stupid for not betting two pairs on the river. (He was mad because he had trips and wanted to be paid off.) I started watching him play and he is so awful. I stayed out of the fight, but said a couple nice things to the woman to keep her around. Now, I look for the guy that was yelling because he's usually good for two pots an hour to me.

I usually send a good natured "great catch, nice one" through clenched teeth. I have also learned this lesson the hard way and used to get angry and pissed off at these "morons".

I now put these bad players on my UB buddy list and when I log in to their tables I say "hey _____ how you doing?".

As an avid non-expert, I rely on these guys to be profitable (as Roy said).
