i have been playing poker both online and starting to play more and more in local games. i feel very comfortable playing my cards but would like to look into more on finding tells. . what are some of the things that you look for, that may be blantant.. thanks, appreciate all the info on the site!

Read Mike Caro's book of tells....He has a tape also...It is the best stuff on tells out there!

well from playing live games the ones i can tell is that
when u before u look at your hand look at the
players behind you to see if they are going to fold or
play. I remember a tell when a guy kept raising me
i had 77 all red. and out comes 3 spades and he
bet i call and when a fourth spade hit his eyes went
to the ceiling and moaned a bit and checked i bet and
he folded. There are others but that comes with table
experience.

I think one of the most important people to read is the first person to your left, because they will be BB when you will be SB. If you want to show yourself to play loose while playing tight, but don't want to pay too much for it, the SB is the cheapest spot to do it from...and if you can tell what the guy next to you is going to do, then you'll know exactly when he'll raise or not and when you can limp in or not.

A bouncing leg, a glance at chips and then looking away, the way a person flings chips into a pot. these are all strong tells but you must buy them from Mike Caro. Look on amazon.com and type in Caro's poker tells. Buy the book it will win you 5000 + it's weight in money.
