HELP ASAP!!! WSOP blind structure, TKarrde, 14. Aug 2003 13:16 | ||

| They start with T10000... easy enough. But does anyone know what the blinds started out as and how often they changed and what the blind levels were? I know there are 5 levels per day each lasting 2 hours. Just don't know what the blinds are. | ||

| Someone beat me to it while I was not lurking on the site! Thanks for the vote of confidence Risky Business. As a general comment, the WSOP blind structures are much improved now, but the pressure is greater, ... so plan to hit the gym regularly six months before the event ... :) Knowing the blind structure is important, ... after all, you want to program your wilson software to pattern as closely as possible the conditions you expect to meet. flintsword | ||

| I find it odd that the ESPN guys never mention what the blind structure is. | ||

| It's probably lost in the editing. By having so many cameras running around during the tourney, they may have simply not wanted to keep up with such an inconsequential part of a No Limit hand in the early stages of a tourney. That said, I do expect to hear the blind levels next episode.........if they become a factor. | ||

| I think the WPO did a better job of updating player balances and blinds/antes. TKarrde "The next best thing to playing and winning, is playing and losing." | ||

| The 2004 tournament is going to be 6 days long, not 5. Is this updated as such, or is this from this year or a previous year? | ||

| The blind structure I posted is from the 2002 $10,000 Buy-In W.S.O.P. Main Event at Binion's Horseshoe. If the structure has been changed either this year (2003) or for next year (2004) I cannot be certain. I cut and paste that info directly from my copy of Tournament Texas Hold Em for Windows (Wilson Turbo Texas Hold Em Series). Also keep in mind that once they get to a certain number of tables, either 5 tables or 10 tables or so they do things a little differently. They deal the cards out, play the hands, but once a hand is over at one table they stop the clock and wait for all the other tables to finish that hand before they start the clock again. This is called playing "hand for hand" and it is a way to insure that each table is playing roughly the same number of hands and is a strategy employed to negate stalling tactics. This could also cause a 2 hour blind level to take more like 4 hours to complete in real time. | ||

| Thanks, just making sure. I expect it to change quite a bit next year, as they'll have to fit in another set of blinds to fill that 5th day of jockeying. on 18.
