We all hate those damn bad beats that fish put on us, so its time to cheer everybody up with a good beat story, the best i ever had and it happened tonite. Playing 7 stud, dealt 6c7c down with 10c up in 3 handed. I bet, one folds the other calls on a 4. Next card i get 8c and he gets a 2, i check he bets i call. Next card NINE OF CLUBS, i nearly exploded, first five cards, straight flush, and i've never had one in 8 solid months of card playing. I check with 3 clubs showing, he bets i call. Next card rag and he pairs 4s he bets again i call. Last card he bets a dollar with 19 left, i go all in (feeling htat he had a good enough hand to call) which he did, and called with a K high flush. Nobody could beleive it, first five cards straight flush, what are the odds!?!?!

I think you should have raised on 4th street. With a 4-flush and a gutshot there you are close to 50/50 to make your hand. By raising it there you get to add deception in case you do make a premium hand, have a shot at folding him off the hand then and there.

Was this no limit stud? I have no idea how that would be played. If so, I would have made a raise before 7th street in case he's willing to draw for a better hand, but unwilling to call knowing that he can nolonger improve.

Still, great to hear it happen. I wouldn't call it a bad beat that you delivered though, since he could be beat by an A high flush and your first three board cards were suited.
