| Humans, by nature of competition and risk, are somewhat superstitious... I know that when I play poker I am wearing my lucky necklace, some type of poker peraphanalia, pants and shoes... i dont like to play in shorts, sandals, or anything like that.... I don't do anything wierd like bring a carebear doll to hold my cards or anything, but I was just curious as to what you guys bring, wear, have, do, etc. | ||

| Ace-Ten, suited or otherwise. It's my lucky hand. I play it in situations I know I shouldn't, out of superstition. Funny thing is...it usually works out for me. | ||

| I've always wondered if other people were supersitious about certain hands. Like Doyle Brunson and his 10-2. I've won so much money on K-J that I end up playing that when I shouldn't. on 12. | I ALWAYS get a three-pack of ho-ho's and a red gatorade at the gas station prior to playing.....last time I went a different route to the poker room and forgot....not a good scene. | ||

| That's funny. When I read this, it reminded me that I used to always park in the same part of the parking lot, always light a smoke for the walk in, always walk the same route from the car to the board, always buy a rack of chips and arrange all the chips the same way in the rack while I waited for my table... | The most fun events during my college years were spent in a long sleeve denim shirt. Usually untucked and unbuttoned over a t-shirt. Never ironed. I usually have it with me in the casino. I had a fantastic time in college, to state things cleanly, so it's a very comforting shirt for me. It relaxes me, and doesn't hurt with my tourist look either when I add a Red Sox hat to the look. | ||

| I had a "lucky scarf" back in the Winter, but it's too damn hell hot to wear that now. Not that it matters, as I'm too broke to go play cards anyway :O) on 12. | I wear the same avatar every time I go to the cardroom. A cowboy hat, a hawaiian shirt, a leather jacket (in winter) and blue jeans. I wear a clean shirt every day now, but I used to stick to the addage that a shirt was lucky until proven otherwise and couldn't be washed until such a time. As a result when I went on a heater and had 5 good sessions in a row I smelled much like I had been bathing in blue cheese - but that's the price you pay. I remember an old Korean once saying (in the Tae Kwon Do dojang), "You should never wash your dobuk (uniform) ... if you wash it, then all of the knowledge that is in it will be lost." Same difference :) Either that or flies are lucky :) | ||

| Can't remember where I read it now but I have always liked the quote "It's unlucky to be superstitious" I don't have the discipline to maintain any superstitions of my own for more than a session or so. I thought it might be cool to always wear the same baseball cap when I play but I forget to take it with me too often for that one to fly. I do remember very clearly one opponent who, after making a runner-runner full house against me in the first hand that we played together, believed that he was lucky against me.
