| First thanks for all the great posts! I've been playing on PP for about a month, mostly rings, a dozen or so SNG's, won a couple, placed a few. I got in my first mutli last night, 30+3, 235 players. Ecstatic when I hit top 30, had avg stack. I started hitting hands and ended up leading most or all the way from low 20's to the final table. Adrenaline in overdrive now, having a blast. At about 6 left I'm getting crap, my endgame strategy was to focus on discipline and not chase any garbage into the ground. It gets awful tempting to play something like A4 unsuited after you watch enough hands go by and the blinds are whittling away at you, but I felt I did good by being conservative. ( hang in there, there's a question comming!) I don't have much short handed experience, so here's where I'd love comments on my last hand. 5 left, I've bled down to about 20K, I'm the short stack, top is about 110K, blinds are 3000/6000, fourth position. KQ unsuited, the closest thing to a hand in a long ass time and the blinds are comming fast, one caller in front of me, I figure I had to jump. Paid 6K to see the flop...5KA, 3 suits. (was tired, so trying to get the details right) The caller in front of me has been playing quality hands all night, but with the chip difference I figure he might be trying to get me out. He bets..crap! If I fold Im to the felt with the blinds comming. I said screw the ace and played the KK, 5x comes...of course he had the Ace. I'm trying not to beat myself up for playing that hand. I never would have chased that under regular conditions. What do you guys think? Should I not have called PF at all considering the caller was tight, and hoped to hit better in the next 3 hands? Bailed after the A showed up on the flop? (BTW, Im still giddy as hell over winning 5th!!) thanks guys!! | ||
