| I've recently started playing online poker. Before this, I mostly played live 2/4-3/6. I don't have lots of experience, (around 500-750 hours I would guess) but I feel like I'm a pretty good player. I'm a winning player at my local clubs (Cache Creek, Oaks players club). I typically only play low pp with at least 2 limpers, wont play less than AJ, fold AJ/QJ/KJ if its 2 bet to me, call with AJs or AQ etc. I almost always fold if I don't hit the board on the flop and its bet to me (will play more aggressively if I can get heads up, but is very rare at low limits) and generally stay away from multiway pots that I'm not leading into (which also happens alot at low limit). Now that I've recently moved to UB, I've been able to keep much more accurate statistics about my play, and I'm wondering what is an acceptable winning percentage. I orignally bought in for 80 dollars, and sat 1/2. My balance has fluctuated up to 300, but has generally stayed around 150, and I've been playing 1/2 and 2/4. After about 1600 hands, I've won just under 7% of hands (about 6.8%), 43% of my hands on the river, and I'm up about 20 dollars. I know I should be up more and have gotten generally unlucky, but I'm curious as to how unlucky. What is an average winning percent, and what do you think I should be trying for? | Hi. Poker succerss is measured in money. Win percentageand bunch of other statsare actually a measure of what sort of game you are in. For example,. your win percentage will be lower in a loose game, but the average pot size will be much higher. Stats that mean something are win rate (in $/hr or $/sb), standard deviation, and coefficient of variation. BarryT | ||
