Side Pot Amount Calculation Problem
==============================

Problem 1:
Below is the betting round which went in a poker (Texas Hold'em). Please suggest me the values of Main pot and Side pots in respective bet rounds.

Problem 2:
I have placed '*' on some bets where I am not sure what possible actions can be performed by the player, when on bet. Please suggest me what action (Call/Raise) a player can play in these scenarios?

| Plr 1 ($200) Plr 2 ($498) Plr 3 ($800) Plr 4 ($800)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROUND 1 | $100 (Bet) $200 (R Bet) $200 (Calls) $200 (Calls)
ROUND 2 | $100 (All In) $200 (R Bet)* $200 (Calls) $200 (Calls)
ROUND 3 | - $98 (All In) $98 (Calls)* $100 (Raise)*
ROUND 4 | - - $100 (Bets) $100 (Calls)

| Plr 1 ($200) Plr 2 ($498) Plr 3 ($800) Plr 4 ($800)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROUND 1 | $100 (Bet) $200 (R Bet) $200 (Calls) $200 (Calls)
>>>Moz: Player 1 must call the raise and go all-in here. This puts $800 in the main pot. All future betting goes in side pots.
ROUND 2 | $100 (All In) $200 (R Bet)* $200 (Calls) $200 (Calls)
>>>Moz: Player 1 is already all-in from round 1. This round should look like this: | - $100 (Bet) $100 (Call) $100 (Call) - Main pot: $800, Side pot: $300
ROUND 3 | - $98 (All In) $98 (Calls)* $100 (Raise)*
>>>Moz: Should look like this: | - $100 (Bet) $100 (Call) $200 (Raise), then Player 2 calls $98 of the raise to go all-in. There is now $896 in the first side pot and $4 in the second side pot (between only players 3 and 4)
ROUND 4 | - - $100 (Bets) $100 (Calls)
>>>Moz: This round is ok. The pots now look like this:
Main pot: $800, Side pot 1(players 2,3&4): $896, side pot 2(players 3&4): $204.

... easiest way to keep it straight-
a) when someone is all-in, match a like amount from the other calls and put that in the existing pot.

b) remainder goes in the new side pot.

This sounds like Mandeep.

How to solve this is easy. Instead of thinking of cases, think of it like this. I ever a player would try to call for more than his whole stack then there is a sidepot created for the amount over the whole stack.

So if player 1 has 100 and players 2 and 3 each have 200 and player 2 bets 120 and player 3 calls that and player 1 calls all in then there is a main pot with 300 and a side pot with 40 that players 2 and 3 are elligible for. If instead the bet is 100 then there is a main pot of 300 and no sidepot yet since no extra money has been bet over what player 1 has.
