Regarding an old post: The Pot Odds Calculator, JasonHoldEm, 4. Aug 2003 23:25 | ||

| Hi guys, Sorry to have to post this info here, but I couldn't figure out a way to reply to an old (archived) post. Back in February I created a little program (called the pot odds calculator) to help people figure out pot odds and if they had sufficient outs to call a bet. Well, the program had some "issues" it wasn't in error per se, but it wasn't exactly correct either. The way I calculated the odds was only for the next card (for example it determined if you had the proper odds to stay to see the turn given your draw on the flop). It did not take into account implied odds (i.e. the odds you'll be paid off basically) and some people thought this was a major concern (personally I disagree because there's really no easy way to factor that in and that really wasn't what I was setting out to do in the first place). Whatever...I see the point the critics were trying to make. Anyways, I got busy with school and after graduation I've been even more busy finding a job and getting my life in order. I haven't had time to fix/improve the program and I no longer have a working copy of the original program either (source code only). Over the last few weeks I've been getting a steady stream of emails regarding the calculator (after months with no one being interested), so my best guess is that someone has mentioned it recently in a post (or maybe posted the info at a website somewhere). I'm sorry to say at the moment (because of all the stuff going on in my life) the pot odds calculator is not available. If/when I get time to improve it I will post more info, but I must apologize that it's not currently available. I'm not sure how much this post will help in getting the word out (if anyone knows how to reply to an archived post please let me know so I can add this info on the original thread). Again, I'm really sorry I don't have time to work on the program right now, but I hope to do so in the future. Peace, jHE | ||
