In reality I've been going to many different games around town and no one likes to play no limit. If anyone knows of a game in NYC/ LONG ISLAND that's no-limit please hook me up.
Thanx.

Cardmaster,

There's just not a big demand for NL in the majority of the "live" cardrooms here in the U.S. Its popularity comes mostly from tournaments, whether they are played on-line or at major tournament events. It has become even more popular lately because all the major events chose to have NLHE as the final event and with all the TV exposure it's been getting lately, more and more people have taken an interest in it.

The problem with NL when played on a weekly basis is, too many players will lose their money too quickly, thus it becomes harder to keep a game like this together, even for the casinos. Most people on the east coast prefer limit hold-em and seven card stud......especially in NY. NY has some really good cardrooms (mostly found in Manhatten), but most of the games played there are stud and hold-em, with a few high-low games as well. You will find that unless you can locate a private home game with people that are really interested in this game, you won't be able to go to one of the poker clubs and expect to see a NL game. Unfortunately, these poker clubs in NY are private clubs, so you'll have to know someone who plays there, (because they are illegal and are not advertized anywhere).

If you happen to come acoss some guys here on the UPF that live in your area and are interested in NL than maybe something like that could work for you, but if not........you can always play NL on-line; there's plenty of games there to chose from; ring games and/or
sit/N/go tourneys'.

Good luck with your plans.
