B&M Speed Question, Robbins, 1. Aug 2003 13:51

| In Hold-Em at a Casino, I've heard the game goes very fast for a beginner. How much time would you say someone will have to react on their hand in a B&M? For example. If I am in first position online, sometimes it may take me 20 seconds to make a decision (mainly post flop), will that be too long in a B&M game or is it no big deal? Thanks in advance! | ||

| Robbins, You can take 20 seconds in the casino as well, even a little longer, but keep in mind...when you get dealt your cards while playing on-line, it moves so much faster than in a "live" cardroom so by the time all the cards are dealt and players are making their own decisions, you'll have plenty of time to act accordingly with your own holding as well. Just relax, you'll be fine....you'll see. 4P- | ||

You will have an enormous amount of time. As a matter of fact, you can usually call time if you feel rushed. Each hand usually takes about 2 minutes where I play. This is probably a little slower than most, but we have such juicy games that it is not uncommon to see 6 pre-flop callers. Good luck. DJpoker

| There's nothing wrong with thinking for 20 seconds and nobody will get upset, unless you stall the game for 20 seconds every single hand. Most of your decisions should be automatic. When you get Q7o you throw it away. When you get AA you raise, etc. Those situations you need to think about shouldn't happen often enough to get under anybody's skin. | ||
