Getting bad cards is not (always) an excuse!, TKarrde, 1. Aug 2003 11:54

Patience does pay!

Played in a 10 player Sit and Go at UB the other night. I was getting the absolute worst cards. But I kept playing tight. I was only going to play good cards to start this one off (unlike my usual style of seeing alot of flops). I wanted to try a different approach and was playing very very tight. When I did finally see KK my preflop raise was quickly folded around. I never really got above the starting amount of T1000. I would occassionally get good cards, bet and get it folded around. With about 5 players left I had to start semi-bluffing some pre-flop to keep it around T1000. But with no more than the starting chips I ended up 3rd and in the money. I really never got any great hands all night long.

Everyone should try this one time just so that they can understand what can be done with patience.

TK

Agreed...my problem is that when I'm at the casino, time is limited, so I will play the junk too often...junk being two suited low, unconnected cards or 33, 44.....etc......

I do need to be more patient. thanks for sharing.
