I was watching a Texas Hold-Em game and the dealer said "option?" to a player. What does that mean?

person was in the blind. they have the option to check- meaning just call with the money they already put in- or raise.

Hi,
When you are the big blind, and the action comes around to you, you have the "option" to either raise or check.
