Well here is the hand history right from PokerStars. I was playing in a tournament and had just got a couple hands ago. Check it out below... Was I right to fold this hand? I mean I didn't want to lose my whole stack just yet. I was scared he trapped me with a flush... Or he could have a 3 of a kind... I was wondering about this, Tell me what you think?

Yeah, fold was a no-brainer IMO.

No argument on the river. Not worth the risk of calling so early.

However, I'd suggest your mistake was not betting enough on the flop. Perhaps trying to take the hand right there (with your top pair, top kicker) was the right play. Here's my reasoning.

Had you bet 700 on the flop, you would have denied him the right odds to draw to a flush (or at least made him pay dearly for the privelege). If he had two overcards, AQ, AJ, or AT, he probably wouldn't have chased. And if he called or reraised, you could put him on a set and act accordingly. But for an extra 200--especially for a chip leader--there's no way he's not staying in.

Interested in others' thoughts.

I agree with MK that you should have nailed him on the flop. But I would put his hand at A2, A3, A4. If he had a flush he probably would have raised you for a few hundred on the turn or river instead of going all in.

All in is usually a defensive move not an offensive move. He may have had a low flush and that is why he didn't try to trap you but on a high flush I think he would have played you for another bet or two. When you flop top pair and have an A kicker that's when you go all in to protect your pair against a draw.

I think he was trying to match up his low pair or his ace or catch his A-5 straight draw. He liked that A so that's why I put him with A and a low card.

I think you had him with a better second pair but it's a tough call. If he was known as a semi bluffer than I would have called. If he was a tight agressive then sometimes it's best to fold up and try again when you know you have them beat.
