| I was just reading up about the satellites for the Foxwoods WPT event. Basically they have 3 levels ($30, $115, and $1060) of satellites, the winnner(s) of the 3rd level getting a free seat into the WPT event. The first and second levels are 10 person single table events. My question is, has anyone played any of these single table events yet? I'm interested to know how often they run (they say one starts whenever a table fills up, but being a little over an hour away I don't want to drive down to find out I have to wait 6 hours for the table to fill) and what the general skill level is for them. I have a few other smaller questions, but I'd rather not post them before knowing if anyone can even answer them. | ||

| I have been down a few times and they seem to run them pretty often as their other tourneys are winding down and dealers become free. They have multi table tourneys every day and it seems like the best time is about 2 hours after they start at 7PM (10 AM on weekends). So if you get there before 9 and sign up, you should get in a game shortly. They also allow phone in sign up for them too (1 800 play big) and then ask for the poker room. Guinessman | ||

| I have been down there a few times the last month but haven't got in one. The guy I go with played one when I was not with him. He played in a $30. In that one the top 2 finishers get a seat at the $115. He finished first. He has yet to play in the $115. The winner of that one gets a seat into the $1060. He said the competition in the $30 was not that strong. I'm sure as you go up in money the competition will get tougher. I may just pay the $115 and skip the first round and only have to win 2 tables to make the big event. But the $30 one does award the top 2 and will probably be against a weaker field so it may be worth trying a couple of those. A hour to drive down there is not to bad I drive almost 2 hours to get there. | ||

| Thanks, I have the pdf of the flyer. I was just wondering how long I'd have to wait for the table to fill up and what the competition was like. Now I know. Thanks for the answers guys. | ||

| I would imagine that you can get on the list for one and play in a ring game while you are waiting for the table to fill. | ||

| The Act 1 tournements usually fill up very quickly at night and on weekends. The act 2's are a bit less frequent. I would recomend going down during the day on a Sat or Sun or go on Tues night and they usually have them as people bust out of the weekly no-limit tourney. The competition is weak in the act 1's. I have seen someone bust out on the first hand several times. As far as the act 2's go they are tougher because most of the players are the winners of an act 1. Pay attention to who pays the $115 in cash and who has a slip | ||

| On Saturday morning, there is a fun $25 Limit Holdem game. I was planning on going one saturday, playing in the limit tourney and then signing up for the ACT IIs. Although I have only been playing NL for a few months, I think it would be good experience. Truth be told, I am probably better off playing the Act I's first, but I decided I am going to play 3 Act IIs and see if I can qualify for the big one. Doubt it will happen, but for $300 its worth it for the experience. Anyway, I am planning to go to Foxwoods one of the next few Saturdays. Like stdioh said, you can play in a ring game and just wait for an ACT II to fill up (kind of like playing a ring game at UB waiting for your sitandgo to fill). | ||

| Mroban- Don't waste your time (or $$) in the Limit Hold'em tournament. It is a complete crapshoot because the blinds start off too big and change too quickly. If you don't get a few big hands to triple up before the first break, you have no chance. Too much luck involved and not enough skill. I am thinking of trying an Act 1 or 2 event next time I head down. The only problem is if you win an Act 2, they tell you when you need to be there for the Act 3 which is a bigger event. So, if it is during the week, you might have to take a day off to go. Also, if you happen to win a seat into the main event, you can't sell it...you must play. I hate that. | ||

| FYI on the Act III - if you win an ACT II you are told when you are playing the act III and beleive me there is very little flexibility. I won and ACT II over the weekend was told that my ACT III would be August 7th, they are very strict about this. | ||

| Shorn: Thanks for the tip! I think then I will bypass the limit tourney. Nice to know I wont have to try to make the 8:00 AM Ferry just to get there on time. I saw that about the Act III (re, strict schedule). That is why I am trying to figure out when I will be available. Beigs, I am thinking end of September now, which means I will be leaving from the city. So if you want a ride, lets discuss. Only thing is, I don't want to play against you in the Act II (thats no fun, is it). Of course, I will be wearing my UB Bounty Hat heh heh. The other idea is to take off on a Thursday when the Act IIIs are running, and play a few Act IIs in the afternoon. That way you don't have to make two trips. That might be the way to go. Beigs, you want to gear up for a September 25th trip to Foxwoods? I will drive from NYC. Also Beigs, I am setting up a regular game if you are interested in coming. | ||
