| Here is the deal... I live in Portland Oregon and I want to play real money Poker online but still don't know if it is legal from a state law standpoint. I've called Police Stations, Attorneys, Lottery Commission and The Attorney General. I've had people say it is ok and other people said they weren't sure. Nobody knows for sure and it's driving me nuts. I want to play and I've been researching this for MONTHS. I will pay someone if they can get or find me a solid correct answer. Please help! Thanks | ||

| I live in Oregon too and the thought never even occurred to me that playing online would be illegal. (Oops.) If you get an answer would you post it in here and maybe save me some jail time? Thanks. | ||

| Why don't you look up the criminal code for the state and see for yourself. I don't know about Oregon, but Canada's criminal code (we have one criminal code for the whole country, but I understand that each state has their own code) is online and easy to find. The section that deals with illegal gambling here is 197. It is written in legalese, but it is still very easy to get the gyst of what it is saying. I'll bet that the website for your state government has the law online (they are probably required to post it there) and that you can look through and make your own decision. | ||
