Agony in a sit n go...., palman, 28. Jul 2003 17:29

At this point I've already gotten AKo and AKs and built up from 800 to about 1200 chips. Blinds are now 25/50.

UTG preflop raises to 100 (pretty sure sign he'll go all in if need be) and the next two players call. (turns out KK, QQ, can't remember the third)

I'm dealt A2d. If I was in very late position, considering my chip count I would consider calling this bet, but being 4th to act, and with the 3 people ahead of me in, usually some short stack behind me will throw it all in (6 people left to act) so I muck it.

Flop 345d.

Nothing like using that logic part of your brain to talk yourself out of flopping a str8 flush =)

Btw... a set of 3's won it all in , with the KK and QQ (both had the diamond) went all in with the flop, resulting in a 3000 + chip pot which woulda left me with 4500 T and no one else over 1000 =)

Well, if you were the type of person to call that raise with A2s you probably wouldn't even have made 2nd!

It sucks when you fold the nut before seeing the flop but I guess you can't really think that way. The same way you can't punish yourself for going all in with AA and getting beat by 4 6.
