| Thanks for everyone who expressed an interest... there was a lot more support than I expected. Just to reiterate... I thought the site would include a section reviewing online poker rooms. Inside this section would be links to online poker sites. We would benefit monetarily from anyone who signs up on any of these sites from our links. In turn, the proceeds that are made will pay for the maintenance of the site (hopefully). Any moneys that remain will be put towards a UPF tourney or tourneys. Also, any content that is submitted will remain the property of the submitter. Since the domain name is an integral part of the success or failure of a web site, I've been thinking hard of some possibilities. Anyone who has tried to think of a good name can tell you how frustrating it can be because so many of the good names are already taken. (It's been said that every single word in the English dictionary has been taken as a domain name). However, I managed to come up with some ideas. Here are what I consider my best. Keep in mind that a .com domain name is always preferable over a .net name. So you have to balance the quality of a name over weather it has a .com or a .net extension. I've listed these in random order. pokerrap.com insidepoker.net pokertell.com pokerproject.net thepokerproject.net pokerstash.com highspade.com offsuit.com pokermind.net pokerstake.net pokerrush.net Let me know what you all think! | ||

| Hey Moz, I really like insidepoker.net but it is a .net. I'd really much prefer the .com but it's not available. I also like pokertell.com. I like the play on words it creates. | ||

| Okay, I was already planning a poker website exactly like you stated...with book reviews and site reviews and what not. In fact, I have already written the first book review on Hellmuth's new book... Anyway, sorry if you think I am an a$$hole, but I fell in love w/ the domain offsuit.com as soon as i saw it, so i registered it. Anyways, I also have webspace I am willing to donate, and I also have a site already set up using geeklog... So if you want to just consolidate right now...give a yelp...otherwise onwards with your project, and on with mine, but it sounds like we have the same vision, I see no reason to just get started now with this... | ||

| I figured someone would see my names and steal one. I don't think you're an a-hole but I don't think what you did was very honorable. I spent 3 hours last night brain storming ideas. I wasn't leaning towards that name but at the very least, you could have waited to see what we picked and then taken the left-overs. Once our site is up, are you gonna steal our content too? | Hey Don, I like insidepoker a lot too. We could always do the .net and hope that we can secure the .com in the future. It currently is not an active site. I like pokertell as well. One rule in the domain game is to avoid names with hyphens. People never remember them so you end up sending people to insidepoker.com. Plus, when you speak the name to someone you have to explain the hyphen which also creates confusion. | ||

| Big, I know that about the hypens but I was just trying to get us something cool. I don't think the .net will really hurt us with what we are trying to do. | PokerUpFront.com is available. I think this is good because it is PUF for UPFers and it goes in with that old joke "Liquor up front, poker in the rear" though a little bass ackwards. | ||

| Hmmmmm. I love the UPF reference. I wonder if the name really describes or portrays our website well enough. If you saw the name pokerupfront.com, would it encourage you to visit if you knew nothing about the site? I am also concerned with the length of the name, but I think it's ok. Hmmmmm. With all the goings on here in the USA and our Senate voting on "Internet Gambling" tomorrow, I don't know about the future of any site that has the word's "inside" and "bet" as part of the domain name.....great concept Big, and I'm with you and the rest on having a site like you described, just don't think that this particular name would be my first choice....what happened to UPForPoker.com???? | ||

| I don't know many of you except from posts on this site. I think a good name for the site could be Pokersmack.com This type of name could attract people just out of a curiosity factor and is easy to remember. Anyway, good luck and I'd be happy to help if I can. DJpoker | ||
