| So anyway, I'm glad to hear that paintball girl (welcome to the forum, btw) is just a girl who plays paintball. I saw the story about the "hunt" where girls run around naked and get shot with paintballs, and man, that is soooo wrong. First off, those things travel at some mighty high speeds, and having played paintball once, I know they can leave a pretty good shiner, even through a heavy coat, I shudder to think what they would do to bare skin. Also, the photo I saw was of a girl who wasn't wearing any protective gear to protect her eyes and face. The people who are involved in this hunt probably don't try to for head shots, but stuff does happen. Then there is the ick factor of hunting humans. Don't get me wrong, I'm not averse to things like good natured stripping and general nudity, or even a little kink, but this seems like an accident waiting to happen. Plus, the entire fun of paintball is that the other people can shoot back. | ||

| It's obviously just a put up. They are charging $10,000 to hunt a hooker with a paintball gun. I'm sure that if somebody actually did pay them and sign up, they would have enough money to pay for insurance in the event of an injury or death. And being shot with a paintball is pretty harmless. Normally the paintball guns have a muzzle velocity of under 200 mph and they can be adjusted way down for safety. I would also imagine that they put a safety mask on the girls during an actual hunt (if somebody were stupid enough to pay that). Actually, seeing as the deal includes sex, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a number of men who would go for it, but they're not in the business of knocking their own hookers' eyes out, so I would imagine they take some safety measures. On the whole I don't think it's that terrible really. I grew up in a city that was on the world child prostitution circucuit and believe me, there are a lot of things that go on that are so much damn hell worse that a hooker getting shot with paintballs. | ||

| This is all true, there are much worse things in the world. I don't really have a problem with nudity, sex, etc... Mostly my problem with it was just that in the picture I saw, the girl was wearing NO head protection. Paintballs seem pretty harmless, but if you got hit in the eye, ear, or perhaps right on the temple or throat, it could do some real damage. | ||

| I doubt that they would be insured if she didn't wear protection during the actual event. | ||

| I think this should probably go in the "Not at all like Poker" forum, but what the hell. Shooting paintballs at naked people without head or eye protection is just dangerous. I've had paintballs leave huge bruises and welts through thick jeans, and that was with paintball guns turned down for indoor shooting. It just seems reckless. But if someone wants to degrade themselves for money then I guess it's their own choice. Who am I to tell them what they should or shouldn't do. But personally I think it's dangerous and in bad taste. | ||
