Can anybody give me any info regarding being a professional and how this relates to US law and Tax revenue? what makes it even more confusing I am not currently a US citizen.

If you file your taxes in the US then you can declare yourself a pro and write off your expenses, but they make it difficult to do. You need to show a profit that constitutes most of your income from poker with winning years 3 out of your last 5 years. You need to meticulously record everything and you are definitely going to need to pay a tax accountant to set everything up for you.
