Why do we complain?, Steven Sherlacher, 22. Jul 2003 07:04 | ||

| Why do we complain when we get rivered by a fish? If we weren't getting rivered we would be in the wrong game. If we weren't getting rivered we wouldn't be getting paid off. If we weren't getting rivered, we would be playing without the fish, Next time you get rivered by a fish, walk outside scream as loud as you can and come back to the table knowing you have chosen the right table. | Indeed. Poker is the only game where we play for money competitively with our opponents yet people get mad when their opponents play really badly. | ||

| Of course, in most other games, your opponents don't win frequently as a direct result of playing badly. -Moz "May your chips never fall from a cow." | ||

| What I find ridiculous is when one tries to instruct a fish how to play after such an instance...I mean WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU TEACH A CALLING MACHINE HOW TO PLAY BETTER POKER??? Just have them play the same terrible, idiotic way they do...their fluctuations will tell the whole story. Example...I was playing in a $10-$20 game with a guy who wanted to see EVERY FLOP. He also frequently saw every river card as well. He "rivered" a number of players and appeared to be the "big winner" (with such gems like Q4o, 73o, K2s). He thought he was "showing us how it's done." In the end, however, he went to the ATM a total of 8 times. When one of the players tried to talk him out of coming back, we literally bit his head off!! Don't complain about your bread and butter at a table...keep them there as long as possible | ||
