why did texas holdem coming to california kill off the lowball action? the only loball in the bay area is the oaks club in emeryville and once in a while 20 limit at garden city,,but very rare...where are all the lowball players?

I've seen low ball games in California and Vegas but all the ones that I have seen were played at a very high limit. All in all, unfortunately, it is probably one of the least most popular games. Even when they spread the bigger tournaments....that game (if spread at all), gets the lowest turnout. I like the game also.

They are all playing hold'em.....It is a much more fun game!

Texas hold'em is an easy game for new players to get ahold of and it is also a game where a player who knows nothing can still get lucky one night and think he knows how to play. Lowball is a much more skill based game that involves an aweful lot of mathematical understanding (or tonnes of experience) to play properly. Put an idoit at a lowball table and he'll be cleaned out so fast he'll bitch and moan and never come back. When lowball was the only legal game players played it because there was nothing else, but now that hold'em has moved in, it is much preferred - especially now that hold'em is televised, it is what everybody wants to play.
