His books are very good and are the only ones dedicated to tells.

The value of tells has been debated on this forum a couple of times. Some think tells are few and far between, others think they are more prevelent.

I think the video's, although much more costly, are a better investment because it's just a better format than photo's. It's basically all the same tells covered. Word of warning, as you get up higher in limits, people are aware of all this stuff and will try to use it against you. However, at low limits, you will see lots of tells.

Check out your local library's website. If the book is in the collection, you can check it out for free. Poker books are in the games section at 795.

I found Mike Caro's book of tells a huge source of information and help in my poker career. I think the value of the tells in the book is overstated, but still has huge value!

P.S. This is not Spam because I work with Mike!

I loved the book, but the important thing after reading it is to make sure to integrate what you learned slowly, instead of concentrating so much on tells that you forget about cards, as some people make the mistake doing. Also the portion on 5 card draw Mr. Caro wrote in super system had some excelled pscyhology ideas/strategies in it and is very much worth reading.

Depends. If you are relatively new to playing in live games then there is a tonne of good stuff in Caro's book. When I looked through it I found that I knew 90% of what he had to say, from my long experience in playing in poker games with bad players.

That said, the remaining 10% was generally stuff I had never clued into, but upon thought, made sense. And for that 10% of information, the book is still worthwhile. So yeah, pick up a copy of Caro's book. It isn't a wild revalation, but what it does do is put a formal frame around what you know about fish, so that you can pick up on their subtlties better.

I just wish that it wasn't full of pictures of 70's disco-ites. I'd love to see something with modern pictures.
