RAKE PROBLEM

Consider following chart to compute rake value in a game

No Limit Games
No. of players Starting at $5 pot and at each $5 increment Max.
2-3 $0.25 $1
4-5 $0.25 $2
6 + $0.25 $3

Case 1:
There are two players on the table and total bet accumulates to 22$ at the end of the game.

This is how i tried to compute the rake
Total multiples of $5 in 22$ is 4
then multiplied 4 with .25 gives me 1.00$ as the chargeable rake amout.

Case 2:
If There are two players on the table and total bet accumulates to 26$ at the end of the game.

This is how i tried to compute the rake
Total multiples of $5 in 26$ is 5
then multiplied 5 with .25 gives me 1.25$
but since for 2-3 players maximum rake allowed is 1$ so .25$ would be waived off..

Please correct if i am wrong somewhere

Thanks in anticipation..

Hello

You have the rake stated as the total bet.....A bet that is NOT called should NOT constitute part of the sum of the pot as far as the rake is concerned. On the second pot the rake should never exceed $1 assuming the rake structure you quoted is correct.

It sounds to me like you are trying to write your own poker software. If you are indeed doing this, you might want to talk to the experts in the games group at the University of Alberta.
