Euros in UPF tourney, Dezperado, 19. Jul 2003 03:21

I don't post much on this forum but I am a regular lurker. However I would like to play in a UPF tourney, but when it's starts at 03.30(norwegian time) I can't make it when I've got work in the morning. I realize that most UPF members are Americans and that the best starting time for most would be afternoon/ evening American time. But what about a daytime tourney during the weekend?

Seems like most of you prefer NLHE, I prefer limit. Out of the question? How about a Pokerstars tourney?

As always my posts see a lot of action, LOL, so I'll just elaborate a little.

Pokerstars seem to be welcome users to put up their own tourneys, like the Danish open III or the The Zoo Tourney and the like. I have noticed that those tourneys are highlighted in blue and stands out on the tourney list. I know that I at least always check those special tourneys out. mostly out of curiosity. In the tournament lobby there is a brief info about who initiated the tourney. So I was thinking If we could get Roy Cooke or Mike Caro to play in the tourney (maybe Pokerstars would put up a bounty too, people would go like: wow, those guys are playing with Cooke/Caro, how can I do that too, and with some UPF info with a link here, more people would register here too. Just a thought.

I don't think you are going to see Cooke and or Caro playing on pokerstars considering they work for a competition site who is a major contributed to this site. And besides I have never seen a poker stars or UB ad on this sight.

People would go like: wow, those guys are playing with Cooke/Caro, how can I do that too,?

If you want to play against Cooke go to the Bellagio on Friday and Saturday nights and sign up for the 30 - 60 HE.

Hiya Dez,

I think a lot of people here like UB and were more than happy with their handling of the tourny, i had never used UB before the other day and was pleased with what i found, i would suggets that we stick to UB as they seem very good.

The trouble with having tournys at sensible times for Europe is that almost everyone who plays in them come from Americas ( that includes the moose people ). If there is enough support then we could try and have a tourny that is at sensilbe times for Europeans to play ( i myself am in England, but luckily my job and body clock are flexible enough for me to play at 2AM !! ).

If there are any Europeans out there who fancy playing in a UPF comp post here and i shall see what i can do to have a UPF Euro game ( of course the yanks etc are more than wlecome if they can play in the afternoon).

One final way of doing it could be have a weekend tourny ( tricky i know people do stuff on weekends ) but then we could start at maybe some time afternoon - early evening EST so Europe can play and show you lot how its done !

Cheers

I think a weekend tourney would be a good idea. We could do something that is in the morning, but not too early for the North Americans. Say, 12:00 noon EST (which is 9:00 am for the left coast, but that isn't terrible, right?) and then we'd only be in the evening in all of Western Europe. What do y'all think?

Even a tourny that starts at about 5pm EST is okay for most of Europe ( 10pm GMT i think ) are there many other Brits that read or post here ?

We all realized this was coming, so it's no big deal.
They've lost sleep, it's our turn.
Let's get it planned and we'll see how many show up.

Hey, that works fine for me. Really, though, with enough notice I, for one, will make all attempts to to play whatever time is necessary to accomodate our euro-bretherin (sp?).
