We need a reporter, stdioh, 17. Jul 2003 16:42

I just had an idea. The WSOP has Andy Glazer writing about it every year. UPF tournaments need their own correspondant. Anybody not playing in the tourney tonight, but have no plans? Wanna [download and] log onto UB for the 9:30 tournament, find the tables, observe the game, especially the final table, and write up a review to post on here? I think we would all be anxious to hear about it from an outside-the-game voice. There are only going to be 3 tables, so I can't imagine it'll be hard to watch everything going on at once. And of course the reporter observing will have access to the hand history button so will also be able to see what is mucked.

Any takers? Sit, watch, report back here.

Is it to late to get in the tourney?

Unfortunately, yes. UB already has the tournament all set up.

Sorry I missed it. If I had checked this forum earlier, I would have done your recap if I couldn't get money into a new UB account fast enough to play with you all. I really needed a few weeks on the road to sharpen my game again instead. So now you're the reigning bubble boy eh?

Not even. The bubble was 6th and I came in 12th. Double bubble? :)

I guess it came down to misinterpreting my table image combined with bad luck. I bet out into one pot and got raised - had to fold. Led out into another for T500 and got raised all in - had to fold. Lost enough of my stack to put me into Brunson mode and got unlucky in a steal attempt (unlucky to run into a hand that had me dominated) ... long story short, I think I played a good game, but I could have played it better. Was I the 12th best player there? Possibly. I think that what we should do here is track everybody's finish and track them over time, then we'll be able to look at agregates for people when we play once a month or whatever.

I hadn't read enough posts at the time to know it only paid five places. I was assuming it paid the final table. Am I correct in assuming it was an all UPF event?

Yup! UPF invite only! 26 of us entered. It was great!

I can only look forward to making the next one tougher to win.
