I think Scrubbie needs to get back to the mop and scouring pads and back into reality. The brief stay near the chip lead in the first tournament was such a shock, they paused the entire tournament so everyone would notice.

I think the odds on Wren and Stdioh should be combined into a Field bet at 4:1.

Since the odds seem to be geared around the number of posts by each player, I'd put all my money on the long shots in this tourney.

Come on now. If that was true I'd be better than 12:1 wouldn't I? Or did you mean posts about POKER ?? LOL

Hey mike...didja read my response to your "frustrated poker player" post? It was down pretty far by the time I got around to responding, so you might have missed it. I took a long time responding though, dammit, so if you haven't read it yet, go read it, aiight? :O)

Hey Wren,

I just read your post and it was some very good information. Yesterday was my return to poker but not online! I played a 10 handed NL game where I finally came out ahead! Actually, I came out with the most money. After taking a short break, and reading up on some books and realizing where my weak points were, I think I played a better game.

Wren, you were right in your post but the reason I was playing too weak and conservative is because of all the bad beats I experienced which was prob a horrible way to play either way. Now, I remember losing my AA to your K-3! That was a huge disappointment, and you are correct when I played it wrong. I thikn the night before I lost AA to something else where the guy caught two pair on the flop, and I was re-raising and playing very aggressive and ending up losing the whole pot. So, I told myself the next time I get A-A to play it slow and conservative. I really appreciate your post and all the tips you provided me. But I will try to get my redemption tonight! you can count on that! Thanks a lot Wren

Mike

Hey Mike,

Good to hear you had a good NL session, and you're feeling "back on top" of things. I do empathize with the whole "playing scared" thing when running poorly, though - Kinda like this: "Oh yay. I got AA again. I *guess* I'll raise it, but it's not going to hold up so I'm just throwing money away." However, it is important to continue playing correctly even when you're running bad, as adjusting your play in a -EV manner will make it that much more difficult to dig yourself out of the hole. It *is* a viable option to play tighter when running bad though - this results in dealing with less iffy situations (for example, hitting top pair with a marginal kicker), and less variance. As a general rule though, if you are both running bad AND playing kinda bad because of it, get up and leave the table - there will be another game to play when you're feeling better about things :)

In any case, good luck tonight! Hope to see ya at the final table! ;)

Think he has a UB account??? :)

That was pretty cool that he played with all you guys last time. Did anyone take a monster pot off him? That would have been a good story.

I took a couple of pots from him. I was at his table for a good half hour or so.

MozMan ... "10 to 1 unless the Godfather is on, in which case it goes down to 500 to 1"

TK ... "Providing his Mom doesn't make him take out the garbage and clean his room in the middle of the Tourney .... 7 to 1.

Beigs ... "Let's just say Gandhi has a better chance to win this thing ... and he is dead! ... 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 to 1"

Scrubbie
"Good Night Now Beigs"
