| Last night I got on UB. Lately I have been only playing UB point Sit and Gos. Just haven't had confidence in my ring game. So I decide to go "crazy" and get into a 1000 pt game. Usually I play 100 - 500. I start off pretty solid. Get it up to about T1200 early. Then I get THE cards. Yep. AA. Better yet, I am in late position. After a few limpers, I try and get some money in the pot by raising to 100. Guy behind me calls and then an EP player re-raises. Now with all that money in there I decide to make a move. All-in. Both of them call. Guy to my left shows AA. Ouch! And then the reraiser shows TT. Before I can grumble about chopping the pot a Ten hits the flop and I know I am drawing dead. Dropped me to about T80 and soon was out. Was playing in a couple other SnGs at the same time. For some reason after the above hand I got a little tilty. Took both of those games down to about T500-T600. Finally I got my head on straight and get 3rd on the 200 point game and 2nd on the 100 point game. Wren stopped in and said hi. Saw me flounder heads up and congratulated me on my 2nd place finish. I then watched her play some HE with which she could not hit a damn thing and was slowly fading away. She invited me over to a O8b micro table. Sure. Why not. I worked my $2 buy-in up to $3 when I got AAA5. And can you believe none of the aces were even suited. I think this is a trash hand. But since the blind was 2¢ i figured.... what the heck. Flop hits me with the case Ace. I have the current nuts so I bet the pot. Two callers. Turn pairs up a Q and gives me my magical boat. The three of us end up going all-in and I take down a $9 pot. Sweet! During that time I also jumped on a HE table where Wren was just having her way. She was up huge and everything she had either hit or held up. I played tight and finally got KK. I raised preflop. Flop came nothing. I bet. Two callers. Turn paired up a 7 on the board. I bet and got reraised. Damn!! Looks like I am beat. I'd put this guy on A7s. I call. Then the River comes my golden King. So excited I just bet. In hind sight I wish I had check-raised. With that and making another boat with 53o off the BB I did okay for the evening. Thanks for helping me get a bit of $$$ confidence, Lady Brantford! | Last night was fun, huh? We both took some beats, but we both hit some good stuff too (and your hand was AAA4, which is MARGINALLY more payable ;) Got my UB account up to almost $90. Wonder if I'll be able to perform the "impossible" and get into the long run for the second time on a 20-40 BB initial bankroll? | ||

| Yeah. There is actually a lot of money to be made on the $0.01-$0.02 PLO8 games on UB, simply because players sit with $2, lose it as fast as they possibly can, then sit again. Obviously there is only so much you can take out of a game, but in that game I think you can get at least a couple bucks an hour. The players just have no idea what they are doing. I find that playing Omaha is nice after some holdem beats just because so many players chase second and pay you well. | ||

| I think that takes a tremendous amount of discipline as well, I really do.....especially knowing that she (Wren) usually plays much higher than that. | ||
