This is a trend I have noticed on every site I open an account on. When I open a new account on a site, it seems that I get every card. I win alot of hands, and then I get hit with every worst possible cards a couple days later. This has happened to me on party, and UB. Is there a conspiracy ? or I am just paranoid

btw, this is a joke but it has really happened to me on every site

Hey Schuster,

I guess I must be the red-headed stepchild then because my first hand dealt on Party was 7-2 offsuit! LOL!! Getting dealt 2 Aces the first time you probably wouldn't forget, and that goes the same for the crappy 7-2 too!

50% of the players will get good hands, 50% will get bad hands, ... but 90% of the people that get bad hands will forget them as fast as possible, ... so you have a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This is a bit like the legend that dolphins push shipwrecked sailors to shore. For all we know, only insane dolphins push shipwrecked sailors to shore, sane dolphins push them out to sea. You only hear about the ones that survive.

You got good cards, so we hear from you. Consider this: The cardrooms make a TON of money running an honest deal, ... they would be insane to try an manipulate a few games for a few thousand when they are banking a few hundred thousand an hour doing a straight deal.

I got terrible cards when I first joined Partypoker, but it eventually evened out.

I agree with you, Flint-

When I first played at Party, my first hand was real trash and I remembered it because I said to my friend who was over my house, "hey, pretty good first hand, huh...7-2?"! But everything has evened out and then some. Aside from some server problems that I was dealing with a bit ago, I've done pretty well at that site thus far.

I don't think that poker sites deliberately deal the "new guy" a monster hand. You have to believe that all the cards dealt are random otherwise you're only going to be doubting that site and probably shouldn't play there. I know I wouldn't if I felt that way.

I frequently win my first hand when I sit down in a casino, often with poor cards.

I suspect this is because you have to post to get your first hand. So I frequently see the flop first time in. I see the flop very much less frequently with hands for which I do not have to post a blind bet.

I hope it's not true. But it happened to me on UB. I started with 25 bucks playing .25-.50. Worked it up to $75. Now it's down to 2.50. So terrible I almost had to borrow money for the tourney on Thursday!

I join Party Poker last week turn my 50 bucks into 125. Now I'm waiting for that shoe to drop.

On the bright side, I still finish in the money in all my tournaments on Planet. At least that site is good to me. :)

I hope its not true either but I know exactly where your coming from. Did well after first depositing money but now I have lost most of it. (Some is my fault - tilting a bit) But my other comment is that I wonder about the randomness of the cards..I see so many times things like AA and KK getting dealt in the same hand...I would agree that the sites have little to win but all to lose - but still I wonder.
