| Nothing miraculous happened, and I went out after watching 520 others fall. That sheepishly put me at 748, but I was satisfied considering I started with 1000 in chips. My 2nd table move was comical, as I had 40 chips left and everyone else had in excess of 2000. I did fold a big pot away near the end with pocket 10's with a board of J-A-8-A-4 with 3 hearts, including one on the river. I was shocked to see Mike812 on the "finished" list, as he was cruising for a while, but I'll let him tell you about it. (He's the only name I knew to look for in the 127 table tournament) Oh well, I'm slowly building my raked hand total for next time. See you at the low-limit O8 tables. | ||

| Risky, I was "cruising" real nicely at the start. I mean I was playing the hands perfectly for the first hour and half. No mistakes, went up to 4,500 in chips when the average was still 2,200. The table I was at was ridiculous. One guy called EVERYTHING no matter what he had, I swear that he thought he was Gus Hansen. The other 8 people were one of the tighest players I have ever seen, which leads me to the first mistake I made. I do not recall the exact hand but it went something like this. Pocket Kings (I was verrrrrrrryyyy happy to see those after folding for about 15-20 mins) so I re-raised pre-flop to get out those junk hands. If I recall correctly (This is really one bad beat that I try not to think about) the only people that stay in are the Gus Hansen wanna-be and one of the tighest players at the table. The flop comes up with a king, jack, and some other low card. I'm thinking WOW, this is great so everyone re-raises each other to the max. Now I start to think, what do these people have? The only way the tight player would stay in is if he was drawing for the straight because the flush opportunity seems slim to none. Or he had two pair. With the other guy, he could have had two 3's for all I know, I think he stayed in just because I took half his chips earlier. The turn was some crap card that wouldnt have helped anyone. So I am sitting here thinking that NO ONE would stay in to draw the straight. I re-raised ONCE again, and then I got re-raised. I'm thinking what does the people have???????? I have the best hand right now, I can beat any two pair on the board with my three Kings. And what do you know shows up on the river. The dreaded 10. So all I see is a K,J,10 and I pretty much know I am done for. The Gus Hansen wanna-be still bet (I still do not know what he had) and the other tight player re-raised. I called knowing that I HAD to see what he had. I dont remember if it was A-Q or Q-9 but I think it was the Q-9. So to make a long story short, I went from 4500 in chips to about 2000. And in the very next handor two, I lost another 3 of a kind to another straight. Same thing, different person. He caught the straight on the river. SO, just like that I am out of the tournament. I still have a LONG way to go to learn about poker. My number #1 problem is laying down hands, and I always seem to lay them down at the wrong time. It was a very disheartening loss, but it is just so hard to lay down three of a kind! And whats the chance of losing to straights TWICE! Oh well, i'll get them next time. That was my PPT experience in a nut-shell. Oh yeah, by the way I was watching the last 30 people on Sat. And one of them happened to be a female (a go-go dancer to be exact) and she was about to get eliminated. So she tells everyone that they get to see her on the ship if they fold for her and blah blah blah. And what do you know, everyone folds for her and she stays in the tournament until the end. Her screename was GoGoDreams, and another guy named Riverz get the worst end of the stick as he places at the cut-ff because no one calls on the female. That is partypoker at its best for you Mike www.pokeranon.com | ||

| I hear ya. I found you a couple of minutes in while flipping tables and kept your table on my lobby page. Up and down, saw you doing well at the break, then I saw you on the out list and was shocked. I didn't play much. Tried to just play cards, but didn't get them. Won 2 straight at one time to get up to 1700 (from 1000), but that was it. Was pleasantly surprised to see just 3 people at my table with 3000 in chips. 2 more 1000's, then a range in between 1500 and 2500. I'll be better equipped next time. Hopefully I'll have the same competition......very tight, very passive (of course there was 1 bully who was close to the overall chip lead a few times) | ||

| Yes you are right RIsky, There is always the next semi-finals. And I learned alot from playing in my first one. I know not to get TOO greedy and take all the chips when I can play comfortably. I learned a lot playing yesterday. RIght now, I am trying to qualify for the Aruba and PPM again. Wish me luck Mike www.pokeranon.com | ||

| Forgot to add that my pocket Aces got beat by 7-10 pair earlier in the tournament. WHO STAYS IN WITH THESE HANDS? It might have been because he was the BB, but who calls a re-raise with that hand? www.pokeranon.com | ||

| I came 139 out of 1268 in Sundays PPM, 4 hours it took and i didnt get a single Pocket pair over 8 no AK or even an AQ !!!!! I ended up going all in short stacked ( 3000 when blinds were 500/1000) with an A6 and was pleased to see the other guys A4, that was until the 4 came on the turn and it was time for me to stop drinking coffee and have a well desrved beer. Was good fun and i would imagine that ones chances of qualifying if you are a reasonable player are probably as high as 10/15- 1 ! Was good fun though and thanks to Begis for his support ! It shows that you played very well to outlast 1129 players without any monster hands. You should be very proud of this finish, and plan on the final table next time! -Moz "The reports of my assimilation are greatly exaggerated." | ||

| You know that feeling when you are not happy with losing but happy with the way you played, well thats how i felt last night. I guess it all comes back to the fact that poker is a game of decisions not of results ! Chasepoker | ||

| So... I stop in to see chase play and he's got enough money to last 3 times around the circle. He was robo-fold and very boring to watch. I had to leave for a bit and told him he'd better still be around when I got back. I believe the reply was "I'll either be gone in 15 minutes or still here in an hour." About 30 minutes later I check back in and chase is suddenly alive and right around the tournament average. Not to shabby. I was impressed. Way to represent! on 14.
