Satellite Advice Needed, Kid, 12. Jul 2003 00:06

Hey all,

Just played in the PPM 3 semis tonight and busted out without earning a seat. I was dealt pretty weak cards, but survived by picking up the occasional pot from the tights. I'm looking for advice on how to adjust my game in a satellite tournament. There were 1200 entrants and the top 27 got cash or a seat. Every table I played at was fairly loose, blinds were regularly defended so blind stealing wasn't a great strategy against most players. So my strategy became to get in there with the best of it and try to keep the pot small and my tournament alive. Is there anymore advice more experienced tournament players can give me, I play again on Saturday.

Thanks,
KID

its hard to offer advice without seeing your play. sometimes it comes down to the breaks you do or dont get. it sounds like you have some good table awareness and only you know your past results. stay smart, and you will figure out your play faster for yourself, rather than having strangers experiment through you.

You're playing again on Saturday? Did you win two satellites or buy into the semis twice? Or, if you win one satellite do you get an entry into all three semis on the weekend? This part of the tournament is not very well explained (or I'm just not smart. :)

PS Good luck. It looked like a really tough tourney to get a read on.

Hey beigs,

Yeah, I went two for three in the one tables to get in twice. I think I heard you were playing on Sunday.

Good Luck
