Ultimate Bet Sit and Go for UPFers, TKarrde, 10. Jul 2003 05:43
| View ( Message | Thread ) | Return to Thread List | |
| We got the green light to have a Sit and Go amongst our peers. We just need to tell them a time and the list of players playing. I would suggest that we play during the weekday. Probably at 10pm EST. My preference is for $5+$0.50 or some UB Points (100 or 200 is good). Let me know if you are interested, any time/date preference, and buy-in. Of course this will be their standard No Limit Hold Em. I'm not sure what we do if we would happen to get more than 10 players. I don't know if they can set us up a mini tournament or if it will be first-come first-served. TK "The next best thing to playing and winning, is playing and losing." | ||

Right now I'm going to try for July 17th at 10pm EST for a $5+$0.50 game. They said they needed at least one week because they are busy getting ready to release new software (that could be interesting). | NO!!! NO ANALYSIS FOR YOU!!! (Actually I don't know the answer to your question.) I think if I cannot guilt UB into giving us some kind of prize that I will have them send a UB hat to the winner and charge my account. Ain't like that 10k of UB points is doing anything but sitting around anyway. I've already recieved my second UB hat that I will be giving away in a home tournament next weekend. Along with a Binion's $5 Hall of Fame chip. But I'm not quite sure what I am going to do with that hat WHEN I win my own tournament. (I know, that doesn't make for a very nice host.) | beigs, you have to kind of save them as you go along. You can look at them immediately following a hand and save them to your hard drive. I have not yet figured how to order hand histories a day later, but I would assume there is a way to do that (e.g. emailing them for the request). After I play a critical hand on UB I hit "hand history" and save it to my hard drive for later analysis. Pretty easy. Not as good as Poker Room, but still gets the job done.

| I know at the bottom of the hand history that you can type in the number of a hand and it will pull it up. But I'm not sure if it can only be done while in that partciular game. I also think that someone said if a player mucks cards on the river that it will tell you what cards they had. Haven't checked that out either. | It does tell you what cards a player has when they muck on the river. A useful if not slightly unethical tool. Kind of defeats the purpose of being able to muck your cards. And I'm pretty sure you can only view hand histories for the table you are at. It only gives you a window to type in the hand number, not the game number. Thanks for the saving tip. I didn't know you could do that without cutting and pasting. on 10. | Great news!!! This will not be a Sit and Go. They need to set it up as a tournament. It will be listed as a Freeroll Invite Only. So we can have as many players as we can get. PLUS... they are going to match the pool. If we get 10 players at $5 + $0.50 they will make the prize pool $100! Sweet. No wonder I like this site so much. So now we need to encourage as many people to play as possible. But I'll still give out a UB hat to the winner!! So now the bad news. They will need to manually deduct the entry fee when the set up the tournament. So just like any other tournament that you sign up for if you can't make it for some reason you are still out the $$$. Also they cannot do it at 10:00pm EST because another tourney is taking place then. She suggested 9:30 or 10:30. I've already heard a preference for later so give me some input. | I will send them a list of all the user IDs. They will then make it an INVITE ONLY tournament. But just like any other tournament at UB you don't sit down at the table the system sucks you up and spit you out into a chair. So it may or may not be listed on the tourney page. I am guessing it will. But no one will be able to sign up for it. Not even us. By giving UB our user IDs they will automatically take out the $5.50 and sign us up for the tourney. All we gotta do is show up on time (and if the rules still apply... even 20 minutes late... like phil LOL ). Looks to be fun! I'll even ask about upping the entry fee to $10 or $20 if it won't drive out any participants and it won't come off like we are trying to take advantage of their generousity. $100 or $200 probably doesn't make much difference to them. | Have them change it to limit and start us each with 10 chips too... that should be fun. ;-) -Moz "The reports of my assimilation are greatly exaggerated." | ||

| Can we request that I win as well? I'd hate to relinquish my crown. on 10. Jul 2003 13:24 TKarrde wrote: > I wonder if I can request some network connection problems too. | Maybe I'll give out TWO Ultimate Bet hats. The second one will be a bounty on beigs head!!! LOL (Don't laugh too hard, I may be serious!) And you too can pimp UB just like Phill Hellmuth! TKarrde "The next best thing to playing and winning, is playing and losing." | ||

| Yeah...bounty him - that would be hilarious. Perhaps one hat should be a bounty on him and the other a bounty on you as the organizer? | ||

| Nah... I've got no value. But beigs is the current champ. I really didn't expect this to become something big. Just a casual Sit and Go among 10 UPFers. Oops. Gotta flow with it. This should be fun. And we need a fun way to de-thrown beigs!! One hat for the winner and one for the bounty. Which is all fine and dandy. But what if beigs wins?? I can even earn 3000 UB points if I take out beigs AND take the crown!! Whoo hoo. TKarrde "The next best thing to playing and winning, is playing and losing." | ||

| Yes, that's all I'm after, number 1. But I'll be sure not to step in #2. - R Dangerfield (I want that bounty hat, please de-lice it) on 10. | GRIN! I really like the standard tournaments that UB offers ... I certainly won't be griping about the structure. I'll just warn you all that a lot of people start dropping out when the blinds hit 50-100. | ||

| Not really related but I just gotta tell stdioh this: Was playing at a SnG the other day. Everyone was so tight and hands were so well dispersed that we got up to 150/300 blinds with 6 people. NEVER seen that before. I felt desperate, made a move, and busted! :( TKarrde "The next best thing to playing and winning, is playing and losing." | ||

| I've seen it get up to 200-400 with 8 people before. Once. But this was before UB got flooded with WPT fans and it was an anomaly. The baby stacks just kept winning their all-ins. I've played in one recently where the blinds hit 400-800 before it ended, but the heads up game went for some time. | ||

| either 9:30 or 10:30 is fine with me, but if I have to vote, I will vote for 9:30. I am in either way. Also, I am fine with $20 + 2 but since my money is dead money, I would rather not go higher :). A $20 donation to my poker gurus seems fair for all the good advice I have been getting. | ||
