| I see alot of discussion regarding tournament or limit ring games. Does anyone play NL ring games? I have tried my hand at limit ring games. Mostly $0.50/$1 and a few sessions of $1/$2, and have been disappointed with the results. Early I did well. But started having multiple losing sessions. $5-25 range. I have been able to do well at $5 sit and gos. Usually get to the money, enough to have a profit. My problem with limit game is I can't get people to fold, when trying to protect my pair or 2 pair, and get burned by drawing hands. I know this is common for low limit games. Nobody is scared to dump $2 into a pot, except me. :) I started playing NL games. The blinds are the same, .05/1 and I use my sit and go strategy. Playing strong hands. I have had multiple winning sessions, $5-25 range. And my lossing sessions are $1-4 range. I have been playing $$ games just to get racked hands so I can be into tournaments. Thinking of mixing up NL games and sit and gos, since NL has been profitable. | ||

| Monkey: I have been a very profitable limit game player online but am just starting to play NL in ring games too. Seems UB has a lot of them and I agree with you - tough to get people to fold. So usually I am raising for value, rather than because I think my opponent will fold. I do find that you can raise for position preflop (except in the really loose games, which are frequent). But in most low limit games, once a player commits to a hand he usually doesn't release it for an extra bet. So NL should solve that problem. Do you play at UB? | ||

| I play at UB. That is the site that has do the most damage. Only had 2 profitable sessions there. $0.50 and $5 but I have most of the $5 back before I got up. I have $83 in the bonus account, but it is alot harder to release the bonus at UB than anywhere else. I went back to UB to play a few days ago, looking to try my new focused strategy, but they only had 1 NL game going. Compared to PartyPoker who have 15+. Still going to stick with UB. Cashed out profits from other sites to make up for loss at UB. | ||

| The micro limit tables at UB are next to impossible to play creatively. You can't represent hands there. All bets must be made for value. It's a really confusing game as people will reraise with trips when the board pairs giving someone else a full house. Anyone know what limit players get more predictable? Sorry... this is my major issue with my game right now. Beigs on 9. Jul 2003 08:22 Dr_Monkey wrote: > I see alot of discussion regarding tournament or limit ring games.
