| Does anyone know where on the cardplayer.com site are the listings for the tournament satellite events? It would be great if someone could reply with an active link to the site. Also, if anyone knows of any other source of satellite listings, please let me know. Thanks Bill A | ||

Almost every tournament of any size at all, has satellites. As a rule of thumb you have satellites of the same variety as the next day's tournament. So, if tomorrow is the $500 7-stud tournament then today will be $70 7-stud single table satellites. Single table satellites for the Championship event (usually no-limit holdem) are held throughout the duration of the tournament when enough people get together to play one (time permitting.) As for super satellites, they usually fall in some sort of regular schedule (say, 9 pm) at the venue hosting the tournament. Paul Stine College Station, TX

Paul, Actually, that's not true. Even if the next days event was to be say a seven card stud event, they will still hold satellites in whatever games they can get a list for. If there are 10 players who want to play in an Omaha satellite, then those people would just sign up for an Omaha satellite and if enough players are there to start the satellite, then they will, regardless of what event may be taking place the following day. Another note, even if you play in an Omaha satellite and place 1st, you would still be able to use that voucher to buy in for any tournament, even if it's a seven card stud event. That's why they run all different types of satellites, all day long, every day. It's more like supply and demand......if they can start one, they will. There's a sign up sheet list posting ALL the games, and whatever game they can get going, they will. The lists will be displayed on a table (usually somewhere near the satellites section). 4 POKER > Single table satellites for the Championship event (usually no-limit holdem) are held > throughout the duration of the tournament when enough people get together to play one > (time permitting.) > > As for super satellites, they usually fall in some sort of regular schedule (say, 9 > pm) at the venue hosting the tournament. > > Paul Stine > College Station, TX > >

The closer you call to the actual day of the event, the more accurate their information will be because sometimes, event schedules do change. If you go to www.pokerpages.com you can type in any tournament that you wish to get info on, by typing in the name of the actual event or by typing in the casinos name and state. A schedule will then pop up on the screen and at the top of that page will list the casinos name with their phone #. They suggest that prior to attending the event, just call first. At that time you can ask them when the satellites will begin. Sometimes dates change, so by contacting them first (closer to the actual event) may be more helpful for you. Usually the satellites begin one week prior to the tournament, but will last throughtout the entire event. Good luck. 4 POKER
