| I played two $5 dollar Sit N Go NL Hold Em tourneys at Paradise Poker today, in the first I came in 2nd, in the second I came in 1st. In the first game I played very solidly, but in the second I was getting a little short stacked with 6 players left and the blinds rising and I became very aggressive - and lucky. Highlights include going all-in with A5o against a solid player who had me covered by about 100 chips, he had AKs, flop came 234 - I won. I knocked out the 3rd place finisher when I was 2nd in chips when I raised all in with A2o, he called with JJ, and the river brought an A. A few hands after I eliminated him I raised all-in with A5o again, the chip leader called with KJo, and when no one made a pair my ace high held up. A few hands later I eliminated him when I had a 900 to 100 chip lead when I called his all-in bet with Q8o, he had AKs, the flop brought an 8 and the river brought another 8 not that I needed it and I took down 1st place. I personally don't think Axo is such a bad hand when you get down to the final 2 or 3 players, and since I tend to get pushed off pots post flop because I get conservative with no pair I'd rather just push it all in and cross my fingers. I don't really have any great points or revelations here, other than to say doesn't it feel great when you get lucky and your dog hands come through? | ||
