| Hey there: I played exclusively for a long time at Poker Room and found it very profitable and a good solid site. But it is a bit, shall we say, boring. Poker Room is great for $1-2 limit holdem, but is very limited in terms of NL games, Omaha, and tournaments. The tourney at Poker Room are almost all limit sit and go's with a few multi table tournaments (including 1 freeroll a day I think where you can win $50 for your efforts). There is also a $1 multi table they play once a day and a $20 once a week. I still play occasionally at Poker Room but mostly at Ultimate Bet. UB has much more variety, the software is better and the action is incredible (check out the 6 handed $1-2, and $2-4 limit games, wow). If you like the best of all worlds (great tournaments, ring game action, NL, PL and limit, Omaha8, etc...) UB is fantastic. Seems like Poker Stars is the best for tournaments but perhaps the ring game action isn't as good (although I have not tried it yet). Party Poker seems to be really popular and once they get their bandwidth issues sorted out, I will be opening up a real money account there too. But based on my personal experiences, I would highly recommend UB. One other thing I find annoying about Pokerroom is that you need to use different software for tournament play than for ring games. Right now, you cannot save information about other players in tournaments. | ||

| Party has their server issues fixed...... I received an email from them when I compained when they refunded money back to me, and said they had fixed it.... sure enough the last few days have been completely smooth, and they reached 9,000 people which is more than I've ever seen, so I am under the impression the issues are figured out. Fore..... If you like multiplayer tournaments... go to pokerstars. UB and Party has them as well, but the selection and timing is best at pokerstars. Party simply has the softest games all around. Most players, most action, most profitable. UB is a second but a viable second to party. | ||

| I probably will move my pokerroom account over to Party Poker and have accounts at both Party and UB. Perhaps add Poker Stars purely for tournament play. | ||

| Party, hands down. I've never played at UB, but it doesn't matter. The game selection, the poor quality of the players makes it an easy choice to go with Party. If you're at all interested in playing in large multitable tourneys, an account with Stars is a must. The turnouts for their tourneys have been very impressive since Moneymaker won the WSOP on entry from a Stars sattelite. Paradise is also very good. Much better software then Party and comparable action. But Party still has the best fish to fry. | ||

| I played exclusively at UltimateBet until recently putting some money into PokerStars. UB wins that battle hands down for ring games. The software is the best of the bunch that I've seen so far, and the games have plenty of good pickin's. However, I have heard that Party Poker is full of people that love to give their money away. | ||

| I like to play on UB because nobody I know who plays there has ever had a problem with them. If something goes wrong for any reason, they are very quick to throw money at a customer to deal with the situation. For instance, when Wren ordered TTH with her ultimate points, there was Duty charged at the post office for it coming across the border, to the tune of $20. When she ordered something else from them, she asked if they could mark it as a gift so that duty wouldn't apply and explained. Without a fuss at all, not only did they promise to send it without it incurring duty, but they credited $20 into her account. That alone gives me a huge amount of faith in them. As for sites to avoid, I've only had one bad experience trying to get paid. It was with www.vcpoker.com (Victor Chandler Poker). I moneyed in a freeroll there to the tune of some odd $40 and when I tried to cash it out, after the tournament had ended and the money had been paid to my account, the "disqualified" me from the tournament and yoinked the money from me. Not only did I not get paid, but I couldn't get them to give me a good reason why I didn't get paid. I think that they felt it was in bad faith for me to win a freeroll and not play the money there or something. In other words, the freeroll didn't actually pay out and wasn't much of anything. Oh, and Planet Poker has really crusty software so you want to stay away from them - they are a sinking ship. | ||
