| To all who play at Ultimate Bet: Recently I have noticed some severe problems at Party Poker. (server connections). Although there site has been one that I enjoy playing at alot, and I find it to be reputable, I am interested in hearing what you guys/gals thought of Ultimate Bet. My question is this: I play alot of Omaha 8 and am wondering if UB offers enough games that could persuade me into adding another poker site to my list. Limits are not as an issue as selection, so if anyone could offer their thoughts, it would be appreciated. Do you guys feel completely safe at UB? (apparently you do if that's the site you play at)! How are they in relation to Party with their connection servers? Do you find that for the most part everything runs smoothly? I have played at or visited many of the other sites but have never really looked into UB. I hear they play alot of high limit. How are the low limit games? Anyway.................. Thanks in advance. 4 POKER | ||

| 4 POKER, In the past I had a problem with UB which ultimately led to my decision to cash out the balance of my account, close my account and uninstall the software from my computer. However, I do not wish this to influence your search for a new online venue, given Party Poker's growing server problems, but I will share the following little story with you. After closing my UB acount, the person who received my e-mail, which included my request to be removed their e-mail distribution list, forwarded it to a manager who personally responded asking me for reasons why I had chosen to do so, taking into account that I was a "valued player," according to them, having accumulated over 20,000 UB points. I did reply, but never heard anything. About 2 months later, I was chatting with someone on Poker Stars who had encountered a similar problem. I would say that this particular conversation lasted about 10-15 minutes. Now as it turns out at that particular time, I had been expecting an e-mail from a friend in Europe who was planning on coming here for a visit. I had spoken to that person on the phone and had asked her to e-mail me her flight information so that I could meet her at the airport. So I took a break from the game I was in to check my e-mail, and to my great surprise, there was an e-mail from a manger at UB, informing me that they had increased my purchase limits. Coincidence? I seriously doubt it. The only thing I could think of which prompted this e-mail from UB, from whose mailing list I had removed myself and from whom I had not heard anything in 2 months, was that they either had a host from their site playing in that Poker Stars game or had someone monitoring the chat for whatever reason. Very strange, if you ask me, but again, I don't intend for this to influence any decision that you might make. On a personal note, I would suggest that you give Poker Stars a try, or at least download the software so that you can check out the action for yourself, which can always be uninstalled should it not prove to be to your liking. There are almost always two 15/30 Omaha 8 games going around the clock, and games at 10/20, 5/10, 3/6, 2/4 and 1/2 can frequently be found, although there is usually just one of each, with the exception of 1/2 and lower. If pot limit Omaha is a favorite of yours, there are always two pot limit games going, blinds being 2/4, and sometimes these games are a bit wild, dominated by Europeans as it is. I have been playing a bit of Omaha 8 myself on Poker Stars, usually 1/2 or 2/4, and I also enjoy the multi-table Omaha 8 tournaments, ranging from a $1 buy-in to a weekly $200 buy-in on Sunday nights. Oops, I just remembered that you don't particularly care for tournaments. Nevertheless, I would say give Poker Stars a try, and you can always remove the software if it doesn't meet your expectations. Hope this helps. Buona fortuna e fa' il bravo. - Giocatore | ||

| I have never tried Poker Stars and am currently not playing on Partypoker. I understand Poker Stars have a big WSOP promotion similar to UB Aruba promotion, Bugsysclub WPO promotion, and the Partypoker Limit tournament on a cruise. Have you played in those tournaments and how is the competition generally? flintsword | ||

| Giocatore, Caio bello! Thank you for sharing that story. I guess there's good and some bad to all sites. That is the chance we take when playing poker over the internet, right? Sorry you had a bad encounter though. I had one at Paradise but will not even get into that 'cause you wouldn't believe it! ('nothing to do with money, or poker...at all)!!!! Anyhoo..... Actually, I do have Poker Stars downloaded but for some reason I just don't feel all that crazy about it. (maybe it's having to look at all those silly photos that the users put next to their name....who knows, LOL). I didn't think they offered enough selection on the Omaha games at all. I like to play somewhere in the middle and I think that when I did look into it, they either had one $15-30 game going or they had a really low limit game in progress....neither one of those limits were of interest to me but who knows, maybe I'll give them another glance and see if the Omaha action has picked up a bit. I guess if I was a tournament player than that would be a great site to play at. I am mezmerized of just how many tables they spread for those tourneys....it's incredible. I do have several friends who enjoy that site though and have never seemed to have a problem with it....but than again, they are really big into playing tournaments. As far as pot limit Gio, I played that alot last year and realized that too much of my money was at stake. I am more suited for limit. (oh boring me)! I think I will wait and see if Party Poker can fix and/or upgrade whatever they need to do to make it like it was in the past. 'Was just curious about UB so thanks for your input, it's much appreciated. 4 POKER | ||

| I feel completely safe on UB. I have a number of friends whol play there and are able to consistently make money. The sit-n-go tournaments are extremely fishy. As for Omaha, there are enough games going at any given time. Why not sign up without putting in any money and check out the action for youself? You can observe tables without being seated at them...see how it is. | ||

| Ultimate Bet has been great for me. Software runs much better than PartyPoker. In fact, I pulled all my money out of PartyPoker and went to UB a little over a year ago. I believe UB also upgraded their servers, or did something to make the site run smoother (I'm not real technically talented) after the publicity they got from the Aruba event on WPT. I've cashed out from UB three different times, never had a problem. Also, one time I won some sort of special promo deal where I got a 20% bonus to my account, but I didn't receive it within 24 hours. I emailed UB and my account was credited right away. There's plenty of Omaha games, the pot limit 8/b game always seems to be going. Plenty of tourneys to choose from, but mostly those are hold em tourneys I think. | ||

The rest are fixed limit, stakes ranging from .01/.02 to $80/$160. As you kow, Holdem is the big draw, so that's where you will find a lot of games, but the seems a pretty respectable spread to me . > > Do you guys feel completely safe at UB? I have never had anything 'odd' go on with the games to make me feel uncomfortable playing there. > > How are they in relation to Party with their connection servers? Don't play them if you are in danger of tilt... but be ready to rake in a fortune in the long haul when you play smart (which I know you will) > > Thanks in advance. > > > > 4 POKER Hope this helps! -Moz "Have you seen the Motor Vehicle Bureau? | UB has excellent customer service. I have never had any problems with the site being secure. I like the graphics better than other sites I have played. I had one tech problem that was on my end and they helped me solve the problem with a couple emails. I would like to see some Omaha single table tourneys. Indiana Kid | ||
