Just wanted to say I played in my first NL tournament last night at UB. I finished 66th out of 400. Not great, but I was not getting good cards at all and was playing very conservatively given that it was my first time.

I was in average position most of the way, but then went through a stretch where I couldn't get a hand at all and had few opportunities (other than a blind steal here and there). The tournament was a Freeroll paying out two entries into a big satellite, so only top 2 places were paid off.

I was 60 out of 66 and I had JTs in the 4th position. UTG limped, 2nd player made a small raise. The raiser had a lot of chips and was bullying players and making what I thought was a lot of marginal raises.

I decided to make a move and go allin. Limper folds. He calls me, and shows A6os. Good call, I thought. Of course, the board turned up complete blanks and he knocked me out with Ace high. Arrrgggh.

Arguably, I got impatient, but with 1200 in chips with the leaders at 18000 and above (and the levels escalating to 200-400) I had to make a move at some point.

I thought it was worth a shot and it didn't work out. But in general, it was a great experience and I will keep playing.

NL is so much more fun than Limit.
