| I've listed the most busted hands below (from a previous post), and have a few comments afterwards that I'd like your take on. Here are the top 20 most dangerous hands from that post: total hands: 4331 182 QQ (most dangerous) 174 JJ 168 AKs 164 99 156 88 153 KJs 147 AQs 144 77 138 JTs 136 KK 134 AQ 132 AJs 131 AK 128 55 123 ATs A5s 120 KQs 115 KQ 114 TT 113 AJ 111 A8s 107 AT I believe this list will scare you at the wrong time in a tournament. This list doesn't say what the winning hands were when these losses were logged. Wouldn't you like to know how many times Q-Q knocked out anything else on this list. I think it's a farce because these are the ONLY hands people will play in a tournament (a big stretch, I know), so they're bound to lose since only one person can win a tournament. This also doesn't take into account how many times these hands were beaten with better odds against those suckouts that knocked them out with drawing hands that hit miracle-miracle to win. It's a disturbing list that I don't pay much attention to when playing. | ||

| I agree. It is a dangerous list showing only one side of the equation. I would be more apt to know the information EARLY in a NL tournament because going out then is such a travesty that I would be more apt to lay QQ down to a big or all-in re-raise than I would at a final table. Winning a tournament requires a ton of luck and if you aren't willing to put all your chips in with a Group 1 hand near the end, then you shouldn't play. QQ is a big hand. | ||

Like it or not, this is the result of the analysis based on WRGPT bust-out records. It says that QQ is the most likely hand for you to be holding when you bust out of that tournament. It doesn't say that you shouldn't play it. In reality, who cares if you were a huge favorite or a huge dog to win with it? That doesn't change the facts. What it does give insight into is the types of hands that you and your opponents are most likey to have when they decide to play for all thier chips. And if you are aware of what types of hands those are, maybe you can use that information to avoid getting busted yourself (or maybe you can't.) The original post was about a hand where QQ got decapitated by a straight. This analysis shows that a lot of people get busted with QQ, in fact it was the most frequent bust-out hand to hold in this study. context context context Paul Stine College Station, TX | ||

| Actually surprised AA isn't on the list. I've seen too many players overvalue that hand post-flop. And pay the price. TKarrde "You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! | I was thinking the exact same thing. I am one of those players that used to keep pushing AA for all it was worth right up to the river only to find in the end that I was holding one of the worst hands of the bunch. Hey, at least a lot of places around here give you a bonus for cracked aces. ;) Peter on 1. Jul 2003 11:45 TKarrde wrote: > Actually surprised AA isn't on the list.
