| I play poker online often at PokerStars. My game of choice is a max 6 player Limit Hold'em table. Average hands delt per hour is usually around 85-100. How many hands per hour avg do you think gets played in a B&M game? Is it safe to say that online play is 4 times faster? I think I am making upwards of 4 BB per hour playing over the long run. It is easy to track my stats with online play. Do you B&M players who keep records count the hands delt per hour? | ||

| I think in the typical B&M, you get between 40-45 hands per hour assuming everyone is paying attention. So, around 2.5 times faster is more like it. | ||

| The fact that you are playing short-handed and online makes the potential win rate higher than one bet an hour....Your expectation will vary greatly short-handed based on the quality of your opponents! | I think a better anology that 1 BB per hour would be 1 BB per forty hands played. So if you are getting 100 hands per hour on the internet the equivalent win rate would be 2.5 BB per hour. Internet poker has made the 1 BB per hour an antiquated rule of thumb. DRich | ||

| if you throw in the general fishiness of the online low limit games, should decent players be winning more than 2.5 big bets per hour playing exclusively $2-4, $3-6 or $1-2? I have been averaging 3-4 BB per hour for about a year online and feel pretty good about it, but I know that I have not always played my best and that I could do better. Is that realistic or is this about right for what I consider very beatable games on the average? | ||
