| I generally play $.50/$1 holdem games on Pokerstars. I'm trying to stay at this level until I build up a bankroll big enough to allow me to play comfortably at $1/$2. One of my biggest problems though is whenever I'm on Pokerstars, it seems that all the tables at this level are 6-handed tables. Occasionally there will be a 10-handed table, but unless you catch it at the right time, its usually full with a decent-sized waiting list. I've only played on Pokerstars, so I was wondering if this is the case on other online poker sites. Is it easy to find a 10-handed game at this level? All feedback is appreciated! | ||

| if you want 10 handed games I highly recommend Poker Room. Just note that the lowest limit there is $1-2. At UB (where I have been playing more lately) there is a mix of 10 handed and 6 handed. I actually like playing in the 6 handed games because you can play more hands and play more aggressively. BUT, if you are just getting started I don't recommend it because the action comes very fast and you have to be comfortable playing hands that you might not know how to get away from as easily (thus taking bigger swings on your bankroll). I would give UB a try for sure. They have games at limits as low as .1-.2 and the games are split between 10 handed and 6 handed. Give it a try. PokerRoom is exclusively 10 handed (although the tables can be shorthanded obviously at any given time). As I have said elsewhere here, although it is not the sexiest of websites (lacks variety and isn't connected to any top pros or big tournament action) it has very good action at the $1-2 levels and lots of tables going on. The games are very beatable there and if you can start with a reasonable bankroll (I would suggest $75-100) and play conseratively while you are finding your games and style, you will do fine there. But UB is (IMO) a better all around place to play if you want a variety of action and especially if you want to learn to play NL. | ||

| At the time of this message (10:00pm EST) there are currently 60+ (yes, that's sixty) .50/1.00 games going on at Party Poker. I do not see any 6-handed max games. You will see some at 3/6 and a lot more at 5/10, 10/20 and 15/30. I think it's ridiculous for a site to have 6 people games at $1.00 levels. That is solely for the site to make more money (more raked games). At such low levels, people aren't generally looking for a shorthanded game. Such a taste becomes developed with experience. | I have found Paradise Poker to be the leader of the .50/1.00 ten player game. More of them going on there at any time than any other site I've seen so far. takedown | ||

| No way. I have been a long time player at Paradise, but Party Poker has at least two times the .5/1 games going. | ||
